Historic Overview

Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Department is responsible for offering services and research in oral and maxillofacial surgery including dental extraction, minor and major maxillofacial surgeries (orthopedic surgery, cranial facial deformity, accidents and fractions, sebaceous cysts, polyps and malignant tumors, reconstructive surgery and infection), and dental implant.

The department has an external clinic, on the second floor, for practical lectures and receiving patients around the year. On the 6th floor there is another external clinic to receive patients, whom cases require minor or major operations, and follow up the cases after doing operations. An operation room is affiliated to the clinic including three dental units for dental implant, in addition to three major operation rooms equipped with anesthesia equipment. Academic activities of the department include giving lectures for under and postgraduates to get the master's and PhD degrees.
